Petsmill Premium Kitten food has a specific nutrient composition for healthy growth and should be fed until one year old. It is also recommended for pregnant or lactating adult female cats (please ask your registered veterinary stockist for advice).
How much to feed
The table below can be used as a guide to determine how much to feed your kitten:

Step 1. Select the expected weight for you kitten when it is an adult cat. Follow the row across to the column for the age of your kitten. This is the recommended daily amount to feed.
Step 2. The feeding amount is given as a total daily amount, so will need to be divided between the number of meals your kitten is having per day. Usually meals are given three times a day initially, moving to two as your kitten grows.
Step 3. Once you have decided how much you will initially be feeding, weigh this amount out and place in a Petsmill cup. Use the guide lines to mark how much of the cup this fills. You can then fill up to this line each time you feed your kitten saving you having to weigh it out each time.
Kitten growth chart
Our Petsmill Kitten Growth Charts can be a useful tool in monitoring weight gain. The chart is used to plot the weight of your kitten against its age in weeks, in order to determine a body condition score. Here you can record the score and how much you are feeding per day. As your kitten grows, you will be able to see if you need to increase or decrease the amount of food fed. For further advice, please consult your vet.
