When you cat reaches one year of age it is time to move on to Petsmill Premium Adult Cat food. It is important to remember to gradually change your food over from kitten to adult to ensure that delicate stomachs are not upset. Detailed information on this can be found here.
How much to feed
The table below can be used as a guide to determine how much to feed your cat:
Chicken | |
---|---|
Weight of cat (kg) | Grams per day (g) |
1-2kg | 20-35g |
2-3kg | 35-45g |
3-4kg | 45-55g |
4-5kg | 55-65g |
5+kg | 65+g |
Salmon | |
---|---|
Weight of cat (kg) | Grams per day (g) |
1-2kg | 20-35g |
2-3kg | 35-45g |
3-4kg | 45-55g |
4-5kg | 55-60g |
5+kg | 60+g |
Step 1. Select the flavour of cat food. Find the weight of your cat. The row adjacent to this is the recommended daily amount to feed.
Step 2. The feeding amount is given as a total daily amount, so will need to be divided between the number of meals your cat is having per day.
Step 3. Once you have decided how much you will feed, weigh this amount out and place in a Petsmill cup. Use the guide lines to mark how much of the cup this fills. You can then fill up to this line each time you feed your cat saving you having to weigh it out each time.
Remember to also monitor the amount you feed your cat over its lifetime using the body condition scoring system.
