Available in two tasty flavours

Petsmill Premium Adult is available in two tasty flavours:

Each of these flavours has been specially developed for adult cats, but with slightly different nutrient compositions.

Protein: The chicken and salmon varieties both have a protein content of 30%, which is slightly higher than that for the salmon flavour at 28%. Protein is composed from amino acids that are needed for growth in young cats, as well as playing vital roles in hormones, enzymes and the immune system. In particular, the amino acid taurine is included for vision, growth and heart health. Cats cannot naturally produce enough taurine to meet their needs, so it is an essential component of their diet.

Vitamins: Both flavours of our adult cat food range contain vitamin A for healthy vision, growth and immune system, and vitamin D3, which is vital for maintaining calcium and phosphorous levels in the body for bone health. They also contain vitamin E which is an antioxidant.

Minerals: Detailed on our packaging is the level of “crude ash” found in our adult cat food. This ash is a measurement of the amount of minerals in the product. The chicken comprises 7.5% minerals, whilst the salmon has 7%, both including iron, zinc, manganese, copper and iodine – all of which have vital roles in the body, such as red blood cell formation, enzymes, hormones and tissues.

Fat/oil: Our chicken flavour contains 16% and our salmon flavour contains 17% oils and fats. These are slightly lower values than the kitten food as excess nutrients absorbed may lead to unnecessary weight gain. Both fats and oils provide the body with essential fatty acids, which the body cannot naturally produce, ensuring a healthy coat and skin. Similarly, they act as electron and substrate carriers, as well as making up the outer layer of cells.
